Main diff between cavaliers Lambda 04-28-2005, 05:48 PM
Hey I was just wondering....what's the diff between stock cavalier vs RS vs Z24 (all 2 door models?) I have a '94 RS, but I'm not sure what this means. Thanks! OverAllComa 04-28-2005, 08:07 PM Stock - Stock (2.2 I-4, optional 3-speed) RS - Body Panels, different hubcaps, sway bars, optional 3.1 Z24 - Z24 Body Package, rims, bigger sway bars, strut tower brace, 3.1 standard. It just goes VL -> RS -> Z24 It increases in performance, mainly in handling, along the way. Body packages get better up the line, as well. Lambda 04-28-2005, 10:42 PM Thanks for clarifying! ImSoYesterday 04-28-2005, 11:13 PM Base- no tach, 2.2 OHV (overhead valve engine) RS- tach, 2.2 OHV Z24- tach, 2.4 Twin cam dont forget those. OverAllComa 04-29-2005, 10:55 PM Base- no tach, 2.2 OHV (overhead valve engine) RS- tach, 2.2 OHV Z24- tach, 2.4 Twin cam dont forget those. I didn't. He has a 94, and the twin cam started in 96, the 2.3 Quad 4 in 95, and the 3.1 V6 was in the 94, at least as far as Z24's go. LXDSMXL 04-30-2005, 09:31 PM Ok I'v heard that only the Z24 has the 2.4 engine 150 horse power. Well my wife owns a convertible LS I check what type of engine it has it has a 2.4 twin cam ?? I went to Autotrader and campared cars I then searched for the convertible LS specs Under Engine spec it read 2.2. So why does it have a 2.4 (Swap? or Stock?) OverAllComa 05-01-2005, 01:41 PM It can come stock, but you have to request it from the dealer, usually. My neighbor's daughter has a RS model 97 with a Twin Cam. It also sports the reworked Phase 2 Z24 rims insead of stock hubcaps or Z24 16" rims. Nifty, eh? Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
