When I bought my '98 in 2004, I noticed that the horn would not sound unless I touched the steering wheel in a certain spot. The horn would always sound strong, but I always thought there should be more surface area on the steering wheel to make the horn go off (instead of having to touch the steering wheel in a particular spot).

Anyways, my horn stopped working altogether, it stopped after playing around with the panic button!

I'm trying to figure out where the fuse is located for the horn before moving onto the next phase. I looked behind the fuse panel located near the passenger floor, but there doesn't seem to be a fuse for the horn there?

Check Fuse # 6 in the Power Distribution Center 20amp. and check the Horn Relay also in the Power Distribution Center.

Well, the horn fuse & relay seemed to be ok! I'll be replacing the horn next & hopefully that will solve this issue.

It sucks driving in NYC without your horn!

My horn started working again!

Besides the fuse & relay, what could cause the horn to suddenly stop working, & then start again?

The horn will only sound if I press on the steering wheel below the Jeep sign! Is the horn suppose to sound when pressing above the Jeep sign on the steering wheel?
