Got a 97 Sebring with 65k, 2 year old brakes (about 15k on them) -- very loud squealing sound whenever the brakes are even lightly applied. I've tried "stomping" on the brakes -- no difference. Any good ideas out there? Thanks

you could have cheap brake pads. Most semi-metallic pads will sing on you when they get old. I two things, have an anti-squeal compound applied to the pads. Also make sure whoever did your brakes put the anti-rattle springs back in place, if those are missing, you brakes will be a singing. One last thing, next time you get a brake job, ask your Organic brake pads, there quieter, & cleaner than semi-metallic. Only downside, they're a bit pricier than semi-metallics.

Same happened to me too. Cheap pads.... I see someone suggested Organic pads. I prefer Ceramic pads.... as Chrysler recommends thou.
Never had problems ever since. [They go for like $76 (front)]
