what do i have!? Fearthe75 04-23-2005, 12:07 PM
I baught a truck and the origanal motar wasnt in it i asked around and people say its a nova motar posible but no one really knows its all orange but the tranny it has a 4 barrel holly carb on it and runs on unleaded gas. Is there anywhere on the motor where i can find anything that will help me out? or any ideas what it is thanks molhannah 04-24-2005, 11:39 AM First thing you need to do is, stand in front of the engine compartment and look to the left front area of the block, right under the head. There is a small flat area with a number stamped in the block. You might have to clean off some paint and dirt to see it. The last three digits will dedermine what the motor came out of. Post those number and I will fine out what it is. Fearthe75 05-02-2005, 04:28 PM i found the numbers on the block but they were hard to make out what they were i chiped the paint away and sanded it a little but i couldnt make them out so i guessed on what they closest looked like (060) but there were numbers on the bottom of the transmition and the transmition was never seperated from the motor im asuming but them numbers were (14038651) i dont know if you could find out the motor with the transmition numbers or not but thanks any ways if you cant find it molhannah 05-04-2005, 01:35 PM Here's a web site to show you where to find the numbers I was talking about. Look at the photos of the pass. side head area. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.show-n-go.net/gfiles/tech/SBC_ID/mvc-032s.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.show-n-go.net/gfiles/SBC_ID.html&h=480&w=640&sz=56&tbnid=Onl2qsQDq30J:&tbnh=101&tbnw=135&hl=en&start=1&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dengine%2Bcode%2Bsbc%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D %26sa%3DN Fearthe75 05-08-2005, 09:43 AM i found them numbers i looked at the website and i found them above the water pump and around the alternater area the numbers are (k05 08 CKL) molhannah 05-10-2005, 04:11 PM From the numbers it is from Ontario Canada, May 08 1973. It's a 350 built for California. It was hooked up to a turbo hydro trannie. It was used in full size cars, A-body and B-body. Does list the h/p or if was a 2 bolt or 4. Hope this helps.
