Service 4wd Switch 94 Gcl 4x4onigugkram 04-21-2005, 09:30 PM My 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado for the longest time had on the information center to service "4 wheel drive switch." After reading this forum and about 2000 replies, I decided to find the 4 wheel drive switch which on my vehicle is just an electronic switch. My transfer case is a New Process Gear NP249 because my vehicle has full time 4 wheel drive or quadratrac. After reading the posts and after replacing the switch once (the switch is on top of the transfer case and underneath the body of the vehicle) the error message re-occured. To cure this problem just un-hook the switch on the top of the transfer case and there will be no more problem !!!! Which ever set is connected now, unplug them and plug the other set together. onigugkram 04-22-2005, 09:02 AM Someone may have changed the configuration of the VIC. Steve, What do these wire look like or will I be able to easily identify them? SteveB05 04-22-2005, 02:12 PM One set has black connectors, the other has red. One set is a two wire, the other is a single. I'm sorry I don't remember which has what color. Once you get the VIC out, you should see at least one set right away, the other may be tucked into the harness, but you'll know them when you see 'em. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
