2 weeks ago my check engine light came on. I changed my gas cap and this solved the problem until the engine light came back on. I took my 2001 Prism to Autozone and they diagnosed PO446. My car seems to be running fine. Any suggestions before I end up taking my car to a mechanic? Maintenance is performed regularly on this car and it has 33,000 miles. Thanks!

Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction
You have to locate the charcoal canister under the car, near the rear. Perhaps the vent or vent valve is plugged, or the electrical connections are dirty. I believe GM is obligated to replace these components for 8 years or 80,000 miles. So inquire at a GM dealer because the canisters are not cheap.
Your car is in no great danger.
