99 V6 oil lightn2racing 04-20-2005, 10:16 AM My wife was driving accross some railroad tracks and oil light came on. She shut it off immediately (I've trained her well). I trailered it home. Dropped the pan and found nothing wrong. Any suggestions? When I started it light went out and never recurred. AccordCodger 04-20-2005, 01:13 PM Was the oil level where it was supposed to be? n2racing 04-20-2005, 02:13 PM Oil was just fine, engine wasn't to operating temperature. I found no restrictions in oil pan or pick up for oil pump. Igovert500 04-20-2005, 10:03 PM Hmm...that's odd. Perhaps it was something to do with the vibrations caused from going over the track. If your oil level is ok, oil filter is still on correctly, and nothing in the pan...then I'd guess you're good. AccordCodger 04-21-2005, 08:33 AM Loose connection to the oil pressure sensor or the gauge cluster, maybe? n2racing 04-21-2005, 10:44 AM Yeah, that was my next route. I may even replace the sensor to make sure. I haven't scanned the car since the oil light came on. I already have an egr problem to fix. The light came on for that. Thanks for the replies. 19prixgt98 04-21-2005, 12:40 PM check and see what code its throwing if indeed, its throwing a code. Couldnt hurt! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
