97 4.3 Wont start, too much gas? HelpGOTTIFEID 04-20-2005, 07:25 AM Ok here goes it started out loosing power like a plugged fuel filter,I changed it... nothing.. still power loss. Now it wont start without starting fluid. I was just giong to change the Fuel pump again ya know?(seems like it might not be pump Though) but it has a throttle problem I cant give it hardly any throttle or it completely cuts off ( no popping) just like it is getting too much gas and not enough air. 1) would all bad 02 sensors cause this? I didnt think so Thats why I have been running around with 3 bad ones, i think thares 3. My jimmy has 241,000 miles on it and I dont feel like spending $150 on 02 sensors and have it run the same. I just want to see how many miles I can get out of the 4.3 before it blows up, cause it still runs very good. 2)Could it be the coolant temp sensor? or stuck EGR valve? Of course I sent someone to buy a pressure tester and it is not the right one so I have to buy another one before I test the fuel pressure, sorry. Would it run with boaderline gas pressure just not start? no? The only codes I get are for the 02 sensors Please Help me out I may have left out something, thanks a bunch jsgold 04-20-2005, 11:14 AM There was a post the other day where a fella had a EGR valve stuck open and truck would "flood". Try unhooking the EGR to see... JimmySLS 04-20-2005, 02:02 PM Maybe a plugged converter ..You may want to check that too.... GOTTIFEID 04-20-2005, 06:26 PM I am checking the EGR and fuel pressure today thank You very much. Any other ideas? it does rev up if i hold the trottle open just a little seems like its not the CAT GOTTIFEID 04-21-2005, 01:44 AM I AM changing the fuel pump!
