'91 735il 4500rpm idlebamaalan 04-20-2005, 12:21 AM We got our car back from the shop after having a master cylinder replaced, and now when we start it, it revs to 4500 rpm and the throttle has little if any affect. No it does not have a throtle cabel ( that's what everyone I ask tells me to check) help!! libertylover 04-21-2005, 08:03 AM Yes, the M30 engine does have throttle cables, according to the Bentley's repair manual at least. Regardless, I wouldn't let the engine idle at 4500 RPM for more than a few seconds and I sure wouldn't engage the transmission at that speed. You should probably have the car towed back to the shop that replaced the master cylinder and demand they fix it and send them the bill for the towing as well (good luck on the collection). Did you possibly mean 450 RPM? Struggling to run instead of a runaway? bamaalan 04-21-2005, 08:45 AM It's reving very high, I can't get the shop to do anything, and I'm not sure I'd trust him.. They also broke our windshield and then denied it. I will probably litigate after it's fixed. csieminski 04-21-2005, 10:42 AM Yes, you should. That is absolutely ridiculous. I just don't know how you would PROVE that your car was in better condition before you brought it there. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
