1996 Intrepid ES, 135k...

Have a constant air bag light on -- comes on after about 10 seconds -- stays on all the time. I've tried to "jiggle" the ignition switch -- no change. No other electrical problems -- is it the ignition switch, or something else? Also -- anyone have the part number for a '96 ignition switch?

If all the accessories and such are working with the key on then I wouldn't think the ignition Switch is the fault, you might have a disconnected or bad sensor for the air bag system or the Air Bag Control module went bad or maybe the air bag itself or the wiring to it is faulty. It would be best in this case to go to the dealer and have them check it out, you don't want to mess with this as if you do the wrong thing then you might deploy the bags and be in a more expensive situation than what you have now.

The clockspring is behind the steering wheel inside the column, they are not cheap to replace and there is no adjustment, they either work or they don't.
