I have an 88 4runner without any extra lift and 15" rims. I am looking for an on and off road shock. Also, should I get struts too when I replace my shocks? Any help thanks, Ty

My first recommendation is Toyota shocks. If you don't like them for some reason, try Bilstein:

http://www.allshocks.com/bilstein/html/show_shocks.asp?make='TOYOTA'&model='4-Runner'&year='1988'

They may be cheaper elsewhere, but that link is a good reference.

KYB, Toyota shocks for that are oil charged, you need gas.

I have a 1990 and i replaced my factory shocks with Reflex Shocks ... they were a bit stiff for a while but after a month ... they started to mello out a bit and now they are great. so i highly reccomend them.

I have a 94 4Runner I recently purchased munroe's fr a Canadian tire Store in Nova Scotia Canada, BECAUSE, my 4runner drove really nice and I didn't want it to be rough, like a usual 4X4. They were guaranteed to ride like factory model & they did.
