Help!! '95 Jetta AT Rebuild problems. baileyboro 04-16-2005, 09:33 AM
I recently rebuilt my Auto-trans in my 95 Jetta. Transmission is a CNK code and "096" model. It had some serious problems with 3rd and OD clutch slippage. Got an ATSG manual and a rebuild kit with clutch paks, seals, etc. Had to replace the pressure plates in the K3 clutch. All other clutches and brake clutchs were good. Double and triple checked clearances and stack-ups, etc... Checked resistance of solenoids at the trans computer cable. All seven solenoids checked out good. The problem... When shifting into reverse, it acts like its in a bind, like a brake is dragging(wheels spin free). It revs to about 1500 before it starts to move. When the gas is let off after it moves, it stops immediately without the brakes. In forward, it shifts fine in the lower gears but will not shift into OD. Oil level is right-on. Can anyone help!?! boschmann 04-20-2005, 11:49 AM Does it act up in 3rd gear if you manually put the selector in 3rd (versus drive)?
