Hey guys. Recently I saw a clip with a Lingenfelter Corvette and I did a little research online and I saw that the car ran 0-60 in 1.97 sec!! Is this true?? How is this possible? And if it is possible how come its not as well known as say....the Enzo or the F1?? Please tell me whats going on here! Later!

2001 Lingenfelter 427 Corvette Twin-Turbo

Price: $165,000
Miles Per Gallon: 15/24 mpg
Curb Weight: 3340 lbs
Layout: Front-Engine/RWD
Transmission: 6-Speed Manual/5-Speed Automatic

Type: Twin-Turbo V8
Displacement: 7007 cc
Horsepower: 802 bhp @ 4600 rpm
Torque: 866 lb-ft @ 3600 rpm
Redline: 6500 rpm

0-60 mph: 1.97 sec
0-100 mph: 4.33 sec
Quarter Mile: 8.95 sec @ 153 mph
Skidpad: 1.01g
Top Speed: est 240 mph

It's very possible for these times to be ran. I found the information at this site here:http://www.fast-autos.net/lingenfelter/lingenfelter427tt.html

The '94 BOSS Mustang has a 0-60 time of 1.9 so it isn't unheard of.

The Enzo dosen't go 0-60 1.97 secs, it is more in the 3secs rabge same with the F1. They aren't the fastest cars anyway, but the Ligenfelter vette is legit.
(To bad he died. Ligenfelter you will be remembered by the vette fans and me...)

I think what he ment to say was why isn't the Ligenfelter Corvette as famous as an Enzo or F1. It isn't as popular because few were made and it's a thing know by Corvette owners and fans.

The Enzo was made by Ferrari and everybody knows, hears, and pretty much loves anything by them. Car and Driver is a Ferrari lover and once the Enzo came out it was on their covers as soon as they could get it there.

The F1 dominated the exotic car market for several years and is still a tough mark to beat. There weren't many made as well but it broke a couple of high speed records.
