My boyfriend has a 92 Honda Prelude with a JDM H22A motor swap in it. He put a 65 shot on it and sprayed 4 or 5 times. We know he blew his headgasket but have to take to motor apart to tell if he hurt anything else. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else before and seeing if you have any idea how much it cost to fix. Thanks

I know a kid who did that with his Accord. It was the first day the nitrous was installed, he hit it 2 times and that was it. He burnt up a few valves and threw a rod. But cost will depend on how much damage was done to it (like what internals, if any, are gone), and whether he is going to be doing the repair himself or if he's taking it to a shop.

yah nitrous is sketchy my uncle has a fully built motor in his drag mustang and he blew his head gasket and cracked the block with 100 shot of nitrous..and it was completely fully built. hes running 11.2s all motor after he got a new block.....

nitrous is all about the tuning. if it goes too lean or your running too much timing, say goodbye to the motor

I've pushed probably 50lbs through my motor, with a 75 shot. Still runs strong as ever. Like was said earlier, it's all in the tuning.

Most of the time when someone blows a motor with nitrous its from a bad setup. I have friends that have run a 250 shot on several motors for about 50k miles with no problems. Only time I can recall a problem was when the guy hit the button without knowing his oil was diluted, spun a bearing.

2 key things when running nitrous, must have enough fuel when you shoot the nitrous, must have internals that can withstand the extra force.

These guys always added a nos-like shot of gasoline, into the intake, that was tied to the little red button, anyone ever heard of that?
