Gonna get a chance to test my theoryCassiesMan 04-11-2005, 05:33 PM Well, most of my research and reading has lead me to believe that my little 325i can hold with and take the 3.0 put out by Audi. Now, I've always been a bit skeptical, but I'm more than willing to test the thoery out. Well, it looks like Im about to get my chance. I just spoke with a buddy o' mine back home, and his dad just got a lightly used Audi A4 3.0. Its a 2004, with 15k on the clock. According to my bud, its bone stock, and feels pretty quick. I started playing the "cant be that fast" card, and it didn't take me too long to get him to agree to a run. Its gonna be a while before hand, but I'm looking forward to it. Finally gonna get to see if I can start picking on anyone bigger than the Audi 1.8T. -The Stig- 04-11-2005, 06:29 PM haha, go get em Tiger. drftk1d 04-11-2005, 06:47 PM arent 1.8t's fast with a chip or something CivRacer95 04-11-2005, 07:23 PM Yeah, with just a chip you can get them down to alteast and high 14. Good luck Cassiesman. May the force be with you...L8... drftk1d 04-11-2005, 07:34 PM haha, go get em Tiger. Sure thing Mary Jane! CassiesMan 04-11-2005, 07:37 PM *now if I could only get Kirsten Dunst to make out with me...* Yeah, the 1.8Ts can be made pretty quick with a chip+little bit of work, but stock for stock, I can take one from a dig pretty good and can more than hold my own from a roll. Thourun 04-11-2005, 11:58 PM Its a shame BMW shuns forced induction. chexmixa 04-12-2005, 11:28 AM Its a shame BMW shuns forced induction. Not true they do have a turbo bimmer... the 318, i see those lil hatches around all the time. tr0ike 04-12-2005, 03:21 PM Not true they do have a turbo bimmer... the 318, i see those lil hatches around all the time. the 318ti was NOT a turbo .. merely a 138hp/133lb-ft 1.9L 4cyl. I'd vote for the Audi in this race, not too familiar with BMW motors myself though .. may the best Euro win! Zgringo 04-12-2005, 03:44 PM CassiesMan, take a 44 Mag with you. If he pulls you , shoot out a tire. If he still pulls you shoot out another tire, and if he still keeps pulling you shoot your car with your last 4 shots. Sic'em Igovert500 04-12-2005, 05:46 PM Good luck, try and get it on video if possible. CivRacer95 04-12-2005, 06:46 PM CassiesMan, take a 44 Mag with you. If he pulls you , shoot out a tire. That way, it will give you time to recooperate from the loss. Not saying you will, but just giving you an option in the "what if" scenario . Thourun 04-13-2005, 12:16 AM I didn't say BMW has never used a turbo in anything, but they are known to hate turbo lag and any kind of forced induction is conspicously lacking from their "sporty" modles like the M3/5 and the Z3/4. tr0ike 04-13-2005, 05:33 PM 2002 turbo? what? :dunno: There was no 318 (any model) in 2002 .. and pretty sure the BMW 2002 never had one either (since it stopped production before the 1980s!) drftk1d 04-13-2005, 06:05 PM what? :dunno: There was no 318 (any model) in 2002 .. and pretty sure the BMW 2002 never had one either (since it stopped production before the 1980s!) sigh. you're supposed to be a euro guy right? :D I mean the BMW 2002 turbo. Not a 2002 318. http://www.bmw2002.co.uk/turbo.htm vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
