So the other day my car overheated cuz it was almost out of coolant. Then after i let it cool off overnight it ran like crap...wouldnt idle on its own and sputtered and hardly had any power...there was also some white smoke comin out the exhaust....Now what am i up against 4 a repair?

probably a rebuild, when ur coolant disapears or comes out the overflow, ur usually lookin at a motor. the coolant is gettin into the engine and burning. hence the smoke. but id go to mazda to confirm.

Is there a possibility that it might just be a bad waterpump that needs to be replaced?

the rotor housing seals, they crack often. but remember this is all opinion, bring the car to mazda.

 you're horrible.

My engines been overheating (well, running hot like 5/8ths of the way) for the last month or so. And i do not give a flying fuck because i got a turbo engine sitting in my garage...

sounds to me like you need to bust of a video camera, find an empty parking lot outside of town, and do donuts until it blows :) lol

how much are rotor housing seals? Is that kind of like a head gasket on a piston engine? So what would you reccomend...a rebuild of my n/a or a new engine or just replace that seal? Thanks guys.

replacing the rotor housing seals requires that you take the engine apart. rebuilding it gives you the security that youre starting off fresh, but it costs more now, and getting a replacement engine (which can fail, and you may need to replace again, which will cost more). your choice.

the engine in my car now isnt really overheating per se, but it does run hot. i guess i could sell it to you after i pull it, but it has 123k on it and i cant guarantee anything.

you open the engine, you have to change all gaskets

seals are another story and are much more expensive, but u can keep the old one if their on spec.

so how much would u want 4 your engine? What would it cost 2 send to northern illinois? And if i was to replace the rotor housing seals how long would it take and how hard would it be?

you have to wait for me to pull it, i still have to send my tubro motor to kahren for rebuild/port, and i have to wait for this guy in jersey to get back to me about the TII drivetrain. so check back with me in a few weeks, and i'll let you know.

shipping engines is 80-120 bucks for a shortblock, add a little more for long block

yeah you need a new motor...i did the same thing...it blew one of the housing seals and like warped the engine...so i had to do the same thing..the motor is crap now so look forward to a new motor. they arent that expensive.
