94 3.0L changing a/c aircompressor by myself?jürgen 04-10-2005, 10:20 PM Hello, replacing our broken aircompressor for the airconditioner (shop-diagnosis) would cost about $800. I thought of getting the part and change it by myself. Can I do this with technical common sense and trunk tools? Thanks, Jürgen EVH5150 04-12-2005, 04:49 PM I hear it can be done. Mine crapped out too and posted about it too. Someone told me that you must relieve the system befor performing the change, but someone else said that there is some sort of shut off in the line just before the compressor allowing you to remove the compressor without relieving the system. I havent got to that yet, though. alsdock 05-23-2005, 12:02 PM Be sure to relieve system pressure! You can verify by installing gages. If compressor is bad, chances are that system is not pressurized. Also, you should recover refrigerant if system didn't leak (its a closed loop system). vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
