I have a 1995 chevy s-10 pickup with a 4.3 V6 TBI. It's running rough, i was told it could be the catalytic converter causing it. I was just wondering if it could be the problem. Kinda runs like it's flooded.

how long since a good tune up? check fuel pressure. cat cuold cause it to run poorly, but so can so many other things. do you have any warning lights displayed?

Tune-up around 5 months ago, did not change out the distributor or rotor. one of the spark plugs I didn't change was in there tight didn't want to break it.

have a solution to changing that tight plug.....you have to break the old onein order to get it out......break offf the insulation abovethe base that way you can get a swivel socket in there and pull the old oneout. its much easier to get a new plug in that an old one out

try that cap and rotor, old plug and see what you think.

No changes yet. I work 16 shifts on the weekend, so I have to wait till monday. But I'll let you know.

I would say that it is your EGR valve. I had the same problem and didn't know WTF to think. I was told to change the EGR and it runs like a champ now.

My 2.2 was running really rough and acting like it was really rich. I had 2 problems at one time though, one of my EGR vacuum lines was broken and the throttle position sensor was bad too. Do you have any error codes?
