Are little Dodges and Fords worse about getting stuck than the Chevi's?

This is just a curiousity question only. I've heard that the Ford Rangers and Dodge Dakotas are worse about getting stuck in mud and whatnot than the S10's. I've just wondered if that was true. (I know my S10 is pretty bad about getting stuck, but it's not often I go on dirtroads, especially when it's rainy, despite the fact that I live out in the country).

Well Ducaire the truth is that there are several factors to look at.

The tires make a big difference. I don't like BFG but there all terrain tires are pretty good for most everyday driving and off road.
Their Mud tires would be better in the mud, but not as good in the sand.

How much weight do they have in their truck. You can add weight until you have enough to sink down to harder dirt, but not bog your truck down

Really the biggest factor to look at is the driver. Are they smart enough to look for the best ground?
Do they have the driving experience?

If you want to go down dirt roads in the rain in a 2wd switch to a good tire, put some weight in the back (a canopy is often just about right, and useful)
Drive where the road looks the best, and always carry a come-a-long, and some tow rope... just in case you need it
