I just read a bunch about engines i can swap into my 87 LXi accord and i am concidering the Japanese accord B20a but i would much rather just build my A20a3 so that i dont have to swap the engine and tranny out.
Unfortunantly though, I cant find much info on how i can get a lot of power out of this motor. I could almost swear that i read something about putting a b16a manifold on the a20a3 but i cant find the thread so im not sure if it was refering to the a20a3 or something els, but thats the only thing i could realy find.
Im looking to get into at least the low to mid 13s in the 1/4 mile which would take maby 250fwhp? so i need about 130fwhp more. Would that be obtainable with just maby somthing like a b14 turbo with supporting mods and drag radials?

Oh yeah another question i had was how much boost can the stock internals of the a20a3 take?
Any help would be much apreciated
thanks

you mean a 14b? these turbo's are capable of making up to 300whp BUT they start dying off at high rpms. and no you cannot fit a b16a manifold on an A series head. so are you going to be driving on the street with drag radials? and i'd say rebuild your motor before you turbo it. since it is 18 years old.

i have an 86 prelude with an a20a3, and i finally got a hold of the guy that owned the car three people before me. id heard a lot from the previous 2 owners, but they ran the car real hard, and hurt it bad. the guy who owned it before them said he was taking to the track pulling 13's, non-turbo. ill try to find his # and find out what he had done to it. the owner two people back took all the mods off when he sold it, and ive been trying to build it back up.

get something a little better than a 14b, if you've seen one in person, they are the dinkiest turbo ever....i would get something like a T28 at least. If you need one, i actually have a nice condition T28 for $115 shipped and it even has the oil drain flange on it.

You're going to want something a little bigger because your engine can probabaly handle a little more power if its in good condition because its a closed deck and should have fairly low compression stock. Do a compression and leakdown test in order to check the condition of the engine.
