Vehicle is a 2001 S-10 with the 4.3,2WD,automatic transmission. I want to change the tranny(30,000 miles)fluid. I would also like to install the Derale transmission pan with the cooling tubes if possible. Everything that I have read tells me that the automatic transmission in the S-10 is the 4L60E. Is this correct? Just want to get my fact's straight before I do anything. THANK'S for your input! John

i beleve all s10's and blasers (4.3l) from either 92 or 93 have the 4l60e in them and before that was the 700r4 tranny, for sue though you have a 4l60e, and unless you toe stuff with your truck, a tranny cooler isnt neccisary

Depends on the injection system used.

Most TBIs came with the 700r4 and the CPI came with the 4l60es'
