Hi, i have the UK version on the venture, a opel/vauxhall sintra. I have the abs light come on and have checked the ecu with my snap on code reader. No faults showing. I did however find a couple of faults on the engine ecu side of theings. One of which was the vehicle speed sensor. I assume this will affect the abs??? Anyone come accross this before? Anyone know where it is located?

Thanks

Trev.

Hello Sevy,
I own a 98 venture. There is a sensor connected to the brake rotor. Remove wheel and look for wiring which travels to the engine side of the brake rotor. I discovered the wires were broken(disconnected). I replaced them and my ABS light (problem fixed) I hope this helps!

JwheelsI believe the sensor is actually a part of the hub/bearing assembly isn't it? Same general vacinity though.

I have a 98 Venture. Same problem. The ABS turned on. I looked at the right front wheel and found that the cable to the speed sensor at the wheel was broken. (It seems that some other people have this problem as well). That was 2001. When I connected the wire back, the ABS light was then OFF.

Now, I have a question. The wire came off again and I soldered it back again. However, the ABS is still ON. However, I had an experience before where in this situation, if I drive the Venture for a few days, the ABS light will gone. It seems that the ABS computer still remember the problem but if you drive the car for a few days, the record is kind of over-written.

Is there a way to reset the ABS computer? Disconnect the power to the ABS computer?
