My A/C clutch wont turn with the engine running (a/c on) and is making some noise. If i give it a little push with a screwdriver it turns a few revs ,then stops.
Looks to me like a bad clutch(?)
If you think so or know how to tell for sure please let me know.
The next question would be- how hard is it to replace? I have normal tools, the a/c is right up front so it "looks" easy enough- but I've been fooled before-a lot.
Any info on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Mine siezed up too on my 94 3.0. To solve the problem until you can get the clutch/compressor replaced just disconnect the wire that runs directly to the clutch. That'll keep the clutch from engaging should you need to run the defrost. At this point, that's all the advice I can give you. Hope this helps.

I was told once by a mechanic, never turn your A?C on when your driving. Wait till you slow down to a stop. That will help make your clutch last a lot longer.

Thanks for the input so far but I still would like to know if the a/c clutch can be changed out relatively easily.
I've found a rebuilt clutch for $122.
