Engine problems with 95 volkswagen gls 2.0L enginge. Engine runs fine at idle but bogs out or lose power at around 2000 to 3000 rpms. We have replaced distrbutor cap, rotor button, as well as fuel filter still no luck

Bang on the catalytic converter with a rubber hammer & see if it rattles. Possible clogged fuel filter?
