1994 GMC 1/2 ton When cuts out won't startbenz2004 04-03-2005, 07:31 AM :banghead: Hello I am looking for help with this 1994 Gm truck. I have had the truck for only a month, First thing I did was change the cap, rotor, plugs, wires.fuel filter& air filter. Truck ran great for about 1300 miles. Then she stopped one day and restartedafter 20 mins. now she starts up when cold and runs good until she reaches normal temp. Then she stalls and sometimes she will start again to stall. I changed the fuel filter again. nothing I then changed the oil pressure switch :banghead: then changed the fuel pump. tank was very clean. Still nothing. I then went to the wreckers and got another ECM same # and acts the same. FYI all parts except the ecm were from the dealer What did I miss? :banghead: :screwy: :banghead: Thanking you in advance Benz2004 whealess 04-13-2005, 03:28 AM it is your battery...too low and not enough power to adequately run the computer. stop by your auto parts store and have the battery checked before replacing it (just in case it is something else). hope this helps... kerri :lol2: LOUD-ASS-SIERRA 01-14-2006, 12:43 PM The guys' right. It's either your battery or try getting a new alternator. My 94' sierra was stalling and screaching, and sounded like hell. It was loose barrings and bad alternator. I got a new one and it ran perfect. Also, if it is the alternator, you probably can buy a refurbished one from a local dealership or auto shop/store. Marsal420 02-27-2006, 11:58 AM Have you made sure that your ground is correctly grounded to the fram of the truck. I own a 1994 Gmc sierra also it would stall out if i back up or if i were to turn in a sertant way. I brought it to a friend of mine and we found that the groudn wasn't connected at all so it would barly hit the fram and the truck would run find untill it moved. I would consider looking through the engine bay near the lower left and see if there is anyting hanging . Hopfully this helps you out it did for me. horse482 02-27-2006, 12:09 PM Pull the ignition module and have it tested at a parts store, the modules are known for going bad and doing exactually what you say that your truck is doing. THey will work fine until the module gets hot. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
