I was cruising on O street and saw this 7th gen Celica behind me. The guy changed into the lane on the left side of me so I thought we'll have a race. I was getting ready for some serious racing . Then I saw this PT cruiser pull beside me (the Celica then changed back into the same lane that I was in).
I was like "shltbag wtf, now I can't race the Celica" I looked at the guy and I saw that he was smiling or something like that. We stopped at a red light. Then he started reving the shlt out of that thing. I was like "nah, I'm not wasting my gas on this thing" The Light turned green and the cruiser's wheels started to spin (he obviously wanted to race). He was about 2 cars in front of me so I said "ahh what the fuk let's teach this biatch a lesson" I shifted into first, then 2nd. By the time I shifted into 3rd the guy was a couple of cars behind me. He tried to keep up but couldn't
The guy in the PT cruiser looked shocked then pulled behind me. I guess he didn't realize my car was a turbo until he read it from the rear of the car. Then, he drove slowly off.
I smoked the s hit of out of that PT cruiser.
The 7th gen Celica owner gave me a thumbs up and also drove away.

For all you who don't know, A celica alltrac is a AWD turbocharged Celica (also known as GT4)

how'd you know it was a PT turbo? Whoa that's weird, another guy in this forum also owns a celica all-trac...probably the only 2 in the US, j/k.

Arent they somhow related to the neon? I think a 95-99 GT4 with a VR4 engine would be sick.

The Celica Alltrac? If anything they're related to the MR2 Turbo's (they share the same motor, 3SGTE)

i idolize the gt4 just because no one has it. same engine as the mr2 but power to all the wheels, the gt4 has a higher reputation than just smoking a stinkin turbo chrysler...hate those things, so ugly

The PT cruiser is indeed ugly, but there are FAR more hideous automotive creations. Pontiac Aztec for one..

Pt cruiser gt's (turbo PT) have a detuned Srt-4 motor in them. they are only pushen around 215 to the crank. On top of that most of them are auto. But it sounds like you found a 5 speed. Grats on the kill... btw whats the guestimated WHP on you ubber celica?

Celica GT4`s lose alot of HP through its drivetrain being AWD, at the fly wheel they put out between 160 - 260 BHP as standard depending upon which version you have. Dont know what that translates to at the wheel? Probably around a 25-30% loss as a guesstimate.

Nice kill by the way.

30% drivetrain loss seems pretty high to me, even for AWD, but I don't know the car, so maybe it is that high. Normal AWD losses are 20-25% stock IMO.

Anyway, as far as PT turbo cruisers...those things suck. I drove a bunch at work (dealership) and you could race the hell outta them and never even hear the turbo. They are hideous, and have so little visibility from inside I can't imagine anyone wanting to own one, letting alone thinking of modding it...but to each his own I guess.

I love the Celica All Trac Turbos. It's too bad that Toyota didn't make that many of them. I think they have an advantage at launch against the similarly powered MR2. Too bad they are soo heavy. Needless to say nice run.

hes probably talkin about a 5th gen, 200BHP at the crank, they dyno in at about 160 at the wheels at 3200 pounds

I hear modifying those 3Sgte engines are pretty hard for the gt4s...but shouldnt they be the same as the mr2 engines? I've seen a couple up here, but i'd expect them to be an equal match against a stock 1gen DSM. Those are some pretty nice all-tracs tho!
PT Crusiers suck ass, i had to drive one for my 6 hour driving permit. It just straight up sucks.

They don't have much advantage over an MR2 gotta remember, mr2's are midengine, which means more weight over the drive wheels As long as the tires stick it's good to go :)

GT4`s have an advantage on the launch, but shortly after that the lightweight little MR2`s soon catch up, the turbos are real flying machines once they get going.

I'd rather have an MR2. Even though awd is awesome, those MR2 are just too cool to pass up IMO.

Nice Kill :bigthumb:

It would have been cool to race the 7th gen (if it was a GT-S 6speed).. otherwise you would have smoked it. I've only seen one All-trac around here.. I saw it once going down the road, then a couple months later I saw it in an accident.. I hope it wasn't too bad :(

Do you have any mods to your car?? I've always wanted to run a stock All-trac.

well he just had to inform us that he had both cars!

I mean come on Vert, isn't the world going to stop if we don't know he has both cars, which are also listed in his sig?

Nice kill.

And yes, the PT's are related to the neons. They ARE a neon, just with that ugly PT shell, the rest is pretty much the same.

Uhhh, think before you post.

The only thing the SRT-4 and the GT Cruiser have in common is the drive-train. They don’t share any other parts. Same goes for a regular Neon and the PT.
