so i would have to buy an external wastegate of course, and most likely mount it on the top of the exhaust manifold. and also make a down pipe right got it. but what about the internal gate on the turbo would i unbolt the diaphram and linkage or what?

yes, take everything that had to do with the internal wastegate out and weld a plate coverng the hole. and there should be a spot for an external wastegate on your turbo manifold.

im surprised it didnt come with a pre welded flange... but anyways... yes you need to weld a flange on for the wastegate.
