i'm a student and i need to replace or rebuild my carb on my 84 S15. a rebuilt carb is 450$ after tax :( and the rebuild kit is 45$ and i can't afford the first. i have the hayes manual that gives a pretty detailed guide of how to do it but i've never rebuilt one b4. anybody have any tips for a n00b on things i should watch out for or if i should just not even think about doing it. thx.

What kind of carb? Quadra Jet carbs are very easy to rebuild. Just make sure you watch what you are doing as you're taking it apart. Good luck
