94 Golf 111 won't start when cool,ughhh! jasoncouch 04-01-2005, 03:43 AM
My 94 Golf 111 Almost won't start when below 60 deg. f.!!!It will crank and backfire for 5 min. then start like nothing was wrong. If the motor is near opperating temp it will fire up ,no problem. :banghead: Anyone have any good ideas?P.S. the mileage is @158000 thank you. boschmann 04-01-2005, 05:30 PM Check the blue coolant temp sensor, it's in the flange where the upper radiator hose meets the cylinder head. Resistance across the two sensor pins should be 2000-3000 Ohms when cold (68F) & go to 200-300 Ohms at operating temp. jasoncouch 04-01-2005, 11:02 PM Thank you sounds like a good place to start! My Golf and I Will be separated for a couple weeks when I get Back together with it I'll give it a shot and let you know.Thank you again, I really appreciate the help!!! :naughty: Check the blue coolant temp sensor, it's in the flange where the upper radiator hose meets the cylinder head.
