Help With My TurboBigJon96GST 03-31-2005, 07:53 PM i am having probelms with my turbo, im driving a 96 eclispe with a greddy set up (turbo, front mounted inter-cooler, air intake, BOV). the other day i was on the freeway and everything was going fine but when i went to gas-it to pass some one up my turbo spooled like normal but as i held onto the gas the rpms shot up and the turbo cut. my engine was reving up but there was no power. everything runs fine. the turbo works fine in first and second gears but when i get into third the turbo starts to spool but cuts leaving my engine reving into high rpms with no power. 97GSTspyder 03-31-2005, 08:06 PM is your car a manual? sounds like your clutch is slipping...they can do this under a heavy load...the cause could be improper adjustment, or bad clutch...slipping is when you give throttle, and engine rpm's increase with no speed increase of the car...sounds like that's what is happening to you. BigJon96GST 04-01-2005, 11:48 AM yea its stick i went another forum to see what they would say and they said the same thing, that the clutch is bad. do u know of any good clutches to go with at agood price. 91 Eclipse 04-02-2005, 10:12 PM www.clutchcity.com this is your best possoble solution. they have exedy and act clutches for around 100 bucks.
