Was looking in my glove compartment and noticed the filter door in the back. "Oh yea" I thought. "Forgot about those."
Totally clogged with leaves and dead bees. The shop vac changed that.
Remember waiting for a leaf in the fan to wear away and quit making noise?

Also, don't be surprised if you find mice have "ventured" (sorry couldn't resist the pun) into the area that houses the filter and made a nest. A few years back in the Spring I opened my glovebox to replace the filter and discovered that mice had made a home in the compartment, and had eaten some of my invoices, and part of the filter element. Upon talking with other Venture owners in my area, I discovered that this is common, probably mice looking for shelter during the Winter months. Now my wife is scared to open the glove box for fear that something may jump out at her LOL. :iceslolan

Not quite. It got the worst of the surface dirt but did little to remove the dirt clinging to the filter material & fibers and the resulting musky mold smell. I bought two new for $22. at Advance Auto and it makes a world of difference in the smell and fan air flow. If you immersed the old ones in a bucket of bleach and water and detergent and swooshed them around five minutes you'd be surprised at what was in the bottom of the bucket.

Preventive maintenance, once a year take them out and vacuum them then spray with a mold & mildew killer.
