Stage 1 or Stage 2?Epower87 03-31-2005, 07:54 AM Sup guys, im looking to get performnace cams for my car and i was wondering if i should get stage 1 or 2. The website says for stage 1 it works with stock valve springs. Daily driver. Idle to 6700 rpm and for stage 2 it says for agressive street use or nitrous. Idle 1000 to 7000+. i have an exhaust, intake, and header and there is a comp. chip on its way and i dont have nos. So what do u think will be best? and will they be worth spending 415$...Thanks guitarXgeek 03-31-2005, 08:19 AM First things first, what model DSM do you have? Turbo? N/A? It's very important that we know what you drive before we can help you. Also, WTF is stage 1 and stage 2? We need some more information about the cams, because stages don't really help much. What company are you planning on buying from? Epower87 03-31-2005, 08:53 AM i have an RS and its a non turbo..and the cams i want to get are from Crower...and on the website i want to get them from, it has 3 stages of cams the higher the stage the more work you should have done to ur car Mitsubishi 420A Eclipse (non turbo) 64461 $ 417.95 Stage 1 - works with stock valve springs. Daily driver. Idle to 6700 rpm Mitsubishi 420A Eclipse (non turbo) 64462-2 $ 417.95 Stage 2 - Agressive street use or nitrous. Idle 1000 to 7000+ Mitsubishi 420A Eclipse (non turbo) 64463-2 $ 417.95 Stage 3 - Full Race. Recommended for Drag Race use only. Kit # 84176 and ECU required. Idle 1500 - 7500+ rpm. scottsee 03-31-2005, 09:43 AM i guess its up to you. the more aggressive the grind the better upper end power. no matter what, you'll want to buy new lifters with a set of new cams. Eclipse520 03-31-2005, 09:57 AM This may sound like a dumb question but what would lifters be? and where might i get lifters? sorry for the dumb question haha. scottsee 03-31-2005, 10:15 AM Epower87 03-31-2005, 01:13 PM I dont want to sound annoying but i still dont really know what exactly lifters are and what exactly they do. I went to the site, and it said it was for turbo, does that matter? thanks in advance JoeWagon 03-31-2005, 01:33 PM Not to be mean but I would save the money for a turbo kit or a turbo car. How much power will you get with $400 cams? 10hp? If you were crafty or Jake, for $400 you could make yourself a turbo setup. KevinE326 03-31-2005, 02:31 PM sell everything and search autotrader.com for a cheap gst or gsx. hellah fresh 03-31-2005, 11:42 PM Not to be mean but I would save the money for a turbo kit or a turbo car.
