So far I am consistent, I havent been able to solve this yet. I was driving home and the car just stopped. So started with basics, is there spark, fuel. Yes on the fuel and no on the spark. So have taken in all of the distributor parts: coil is good, module is good, replaced condenser assembly. Haven't tested coil pickup yet, and am going to replace the ECM if I can find the darn thing. Not under the dash, or the seat. Can't find the 12 pin computer port either. Stumped for the moment. Will let you know. Any suggestions? Have made sure all connections tight, dielectric grease in abundance, new cap,rotor. Ran great till it stopped.

check and see if you are getting spark from the coil. if so its probably your pick up coil. if no spark from coil than the problem is somewhere before the coil.
youd probably have better luck on the suburban forum than here on the s10 forum. good luck.

I had to get my bosses truck working the other day and I had to jump the coil right from the + side of the battery.

If you have to do this you'll have to pull the jumper to shut the truck off. (his was a ford though)

I was suprised that this worked, being the first time that I had done it with an electronic ignition vehicle

I do have spark at the coil so am pulling out to check the pickup coil. Meter tested at 740 ohms and a tech site said it needed to be 800-900 ohms.

Engine turns over fine, power is at the coil BAT terminal with ignition on. Just no spark coming out to the plugs. Just bought one of those things you put inline with the plug wires from Schucks and no spark on any plugs.
