looking for panel clip

The rear tailgate wouldn't open so I took off the panel and fixed the problem. Handle and lock mechanism needed oiled.......

My new problem....trying to find the right size nylon push rivets/retainers for the panel. We have a 1991 Tracker. The local auto prts store has ordered in two different types......must be like Goldilocks because they just aren't right yet.

Anyone know where to find these? I'm waiting on a reply from an online company too.
Thanks,
Kelly

I know the junkyard wouldn't be an option since they are a one-time use, but I might have to try the dealership.
Thanks!

They're not one time use.. you push the pin in and they pop out, then you pull the pin out, insert the clip in the hole, then push the pin in the hole to reset them in place.

Not the one's I removed. Maybe's it's because the plastic is old and that is why they broke. Even some of the new one's I purchased at O'Reilly's were not reuseable.

I'll have to call the dealership.
Thanks again!

Got the same problem. Don't even bother with plastic replacements. Buy a dozen toggle screws from Home Depot. You know, the things they hang pictures with, the ones with the spring loaded arms that pop out? Add a dozen finishing washers and you're back in business. cymbidium6

These are same clips used for snowmoblie windsheilds. At least they were in my 1999 & 2000 Polaris
