Rims

I have a question regarding Tire Rims... I just got my 99 Sebring in November and actually really love it...except for the fact that I have had 4 flats in the 4 months that I have owned it. 2 on the passengers rear side and 2 on the driver's side (also rear). every time I went in to have it fixed I was told that the rims were bent (potholes-NYC driving ain't easy on a car, I know!) and so the tires were leaking air.

then on some other Sebring bashing website (people complaining about their cars) someone said that the rims were soft. this sounds like it makes sense to me in light of my experiences. I was just wondering if anyone out there has experienced (and come up w/ a solution for) this problem.

is it really true that the rims on the 99 Sebring (or any Sebring or Chrysler??) tend to be soft? are there good rims to be bought? thanks!

I don't know, but there are certainly some whells softer than others... aluminum verses alloy, for instance. There are some brilliant folks over at the wheels forum and you might want to do a search then ask over there if nothing turns up here.

Ive had no problem with my factory rims and tires (that I use for winter driving now). If I were you...the smarter investment would be to buy a new set of wheels and tires overall.

You can get factory wheels and use your current tires from e-part stores online or in junkyards.

Or go to www.wheelmax.com and lay down $600-$1000 for a freely shipped wheel and tire package. Thats what I did...and its worked out fine.

I have a 2001 Sebring Sedan LXi and I am having rim problems also. I actually just posted my problem today. At 10pm last night the tire just lost all pressure while driving at 50mph on a state road. My problems only affect the front rims even after rotation. It can be fine that morning but lose even half if not all air pressure by evening. I only have 37000 miles and dealer wants to look at all 4 at no charge (just to look) I have even had all pressure lost overnight. What a shock to get up and find your tire totally flat and the car was parked in the garage so it wasn't vandalism. I have 16 inch aluminum rims
