wheel size on 02 Z24dkelly9 03-22-2005, 09:38 AM Hey, recently bought 02 Z24 5 speed. Previous owner installed 15 in wheels. Any comments. I'm about to check the speedometer today, but did they have to change gearing or anything or could it still be factory? Also, at higher speeds, I can hear tire noise. I think it may be because of the smaller wheels. Any info appreciated. redz245speed 03-22-2005, 10:14 AM your stock rims are 16 inches. your stock tire size is 205/55/16 KJRich 03-22-2005, 06:08 PM If the 15" wheels are 6" wide and have 195/65/15 tires on them, then the speedo should be pretty much right on. Thats the factory 15" sizes for '95 and newer Cavaliers. And he's right about the stock 16" size too. Classicrocjunkie 03-22-2005, 07:00 PM ah hell just get some 18's and lower it 1.5" and your all set. 01Cavy 03-22-2005, 07:05 PM ah hell just get some 18's and lower it 1.5" and your all set. What he said! Only I'd only lower .5" in the front and 1" in the back, or 1" front and 1.5" back...whatever works for you! KJRich 03-22-2005, 07:09 PM What the hell, why not, I'm with them, get 18's, a drop and be done with it. :lol2: :p Classicrocjunkie 03-23-2005, 10:27 AM What he said! By doing a 1.5 drop all the way around still leaves the rake affect but a hell of alot less wheel gap. 01Cavy 03-23-2005, 11:43 PM Why? Your car has a natural rake to it as is. I live in Alabama...we have nothing but bumps curves and hills. I'd fuck my car all up if it was too low and this is my everyday driver...and will remain that way. No trailer queens for me! KJRich 03-24-2005, 08:31 AM I'd like to drop mine slightly, but to be honest, I'd probably scrape every time I try to pull out of the driveway. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
