Mugen NSXJay! 07-05-2001, 05:45 PM Has anybody ever heard anything about this car's performance? Did they tune it at all? I found these pictures on the web, all by themselves. What year is it from? http://members.aol.com/silverstones2000/mugenNSX1.jpg http://members.aol.com/silverstones2000/mugenNSX2.jpg enzo@af 07-06-2001, 11:48 AM Looks freaking good! I want! Gimme! i_rebel 07-06-2001, 11:59 AM Looking mighty nice . . . blue is soooo hot! Jay! 07-06-2001, 06:33 PM I like so many things about it. Flush-mounted headlights Floating Honda emblem Hood vents Beefier wing Real exposed gas cap Appropriate application of useful air vents on rear quarters Badass exhaust pipes Awesome wheels I'm confused by the grey shelf-like rear bumper. I'd love to learn more... JD@af 07-07-2001, 02:46 PM I think that rear bumper is just designed to move the NSX into more contemporary styling circles, with the exhaust tips protruding from the rear bumper. I kind of like the way it looks. What I'd like to know is why the vents in the front hood? I'd like to think that they serve a purpose.. but I can't think of a practical reason for them, since the NSX is mid-engined. Possibly that these vents aid in brake cooling, generation of downforce, or perhaps feeding some crazy custom intake design (i.e. with the induction devices mounted in front of the crew cabin). Jay! 07-08-2001, 01:32 AM The radiator is usually in the front. Perhaps it's turbo'd and there's an intercooler up front. I dunno... carz 09-18-2001, 06:37 PM Silver_S2000 thats a '97 model!!!Because they didn't start use the Mugen body until they entered in the JGTC series! Jay! 09-19-2001, 03:59 AM I'm fairly familiar with the bodies of the JGTC NSXs, and I don't see much shared between them and this... primera man 09-19-2001, 05:07 AM One hot looking car....not to keen on the rims though. gang$tarr 09-19-2001, 05:42 PM Originally posted by primera man One hot looking car....not to keen on the rims though. yeah they coulda found some nicer lookin rims NSX 12-07-2001, 08:47 AM yah, i saw those pics at nsx.vtec.net anyone got the specs on that baby? madtownhonda 12-07-2001, 03:24 PM those wheels are the rarest mugen wheels made...the MR7...they go $3000 for 16" 4x100.....I would hate to see the price on those...probably cost more than all my damn cars combined:D nsx1164 12-07-2001, 07:46 PM Originally posted by JD@af What I'd like to know is why the vents in the front hood? For the most part these provide an exit path for air, creating additional downforce on the front end. This reduces lift at speed, and helps plant the car in high speed corners. THe front area also houses radiators for engine cooling and A/C, and that hot air has to go somewhere too. Better it flush out through a smooth path, then go through the (more turbulent path) undercarriage Also, they look COOL F20C 12-08-2001, 03:42 AM The headlight conversion reminds me of RX-7. NSX 01-18-2002, 04:36 PM check out http://nsx.vtec.net for the rear picture nsx1164 01-20-2002, 03:20 AM the Mugen car is also based on several of the design concepts first tested on the JGTC (Japan GT Championship) series. The NSX competes in both the 300 hp and 500 hp classes. check out the GT-NSX site (http://asia.vtec.net/beystock/honda/nsxgt2000/index.html) for more info NSX 02-07-2002, 09:11 AM Originally posted by nsx1164 the Mugen car is also based on several of the design concepts first tested on the JGTC (Japan GT Championship) series.
