Headers for a '66

I'm looking to put headers on my '66 SS. It's got a small block with stock exhaust manifolds right now.
What's the best brand (fit, price, etc.) for a street car? How about ground clearance problems?

There's a number of headers out there. Hooker, Hedman etc. They're fun to put in and they will heat up your starter. You might need a heat shield for your starter and you might want to wrap your headers. If you are near Panama City, FL I'd might trade ya my old headers for your exhaust manifolds.

I'm guessing you don't think headers are that great after all. Don't forget they make more noise, rattle themselves loose, sometimes hit the ground, and always seem to rub on something! Still I would consider installing them for the extra power but it would have to be a high quality set that fits good. And then try the special bolts (stage eight locking fastners) that supposedly don't loosen up.

I have a set of Hooker Super Comps on my '67 and they fit wonderfully. No clearance problems what so ever.
