well i have been offered to get one of these vehicles from my father and have to make a choice between them. the cutlass ciera has a 4 banger and has a busted gas gauge and a leaking valve cover (not big problems) but also had a problem when taken off the road 2 years ago of not starting when hot outside or when starting hot. its suspected as wiring. the town & country wagon has rust on rockers and fake wood paneling is pealing (clear coat is also pealing on paint) its also a 4 banger (2.5L) and is needing a few things like a carb rebuild, new headliner (its sagged really bad) and fixing rust. its been on the road for last 2 years and is still running (starting to get a slight tick (so i need to adjust the rocker arms again)

both run and pass aircare (cutlass ciera passes with flying colours thanks to a grand cherokee cat. and has zero rust)

edit: the olds is a 86 by vin #!! (i think i screwed up decoding it! is it the 8th or 10th digit from start that is year?)

Have you ever heard the term 'between the devil and the deep blue sea?

Personally, got for the Olds. Its mechanical problems are easier to fix than rust and bad paint.
Also late GM A bodies are more reliable and function better then an early K-car.
