question about tires

this question really is just about tires. my husband stop really suddenly and kinda turned the wheel at the same time. right after he did that the car is shaking, and driving really badly(steering wheel is shaking while driving over 30 miles an hour or so). someone told us that the tire probably has a flat spot on it now and that is causing car to run bad. and we can see a lvery small flat spot on front tire. does anyone know if this (the flat spot) would cause the car to run so crappy? and will the flat spot go away or do we need to buy a new tire now?
thanks

unfortunately, that flat spot is there for good, the only way to get rid of it is to replace it. No matter how you try to balance that tire, there'll still be a vibration. I strongly recommend that you use Goodyear's Eagle GA P225/60/R-16 size tire; if you use anything else, it'll ride at speeds under 30 MPH, but as soon as you go 35 or over, it'll sing like hell and sound like the tire's going to fall apart. I made that mistake on my '02 by buying Pep Boy's Futura brand tire, crappiest tire on the road, I ended up dishing out $480 for four tires, but at least my car is smoother, handles better and much quieter than those damn Futura's.
