Try lubricating the latches. Spray liberally insidt the door where the latch bolts on the door frame. There is a switch on each latch that tells if the door is open or closed. These stick and tell lies to the GEM module. Good luck.

This is only a temporary repair. The switch will need to be replaced to effectively repair concern.

I agree. I've tried to remove & lubricate the switch, but for the $8.50 the switch costs at Ford, why bother.

For other people with the same problem, I recommend to hook your truck up to a scan tool, and check out which switch is actually stuck (Using the GEM menu) before you go and start replacing switches. The design of this (door ajar switch mounted to the latch assembly) switch has been a common problem. Also, test your switch for either normally open or normally closed AND test the new switch. Ford makes the switch both ways. I installed a switch into a Windstar that made the dome light come on when the door closed & off when the door opened.
