Cd Player stopped working.IkariEvn 03-17-2005, 10:20 PM I have this problem with the CD Player in my 97 Cavalier. I bought a Dual cd player a few days after I got my car and put it in, and it worked fine for like 3 months. Then all of a sudden it just stopped working. During the time it did work if I hit a bump it would skip, but I just figured that it was a shitty cd player that skipped easily. I have tried using a different cd player, and a new wiring harness for the cd player. The stock radio works perfectly fine but the cd player does not. Do anyone know what this could be? I have tried everything I could think of. Some help would be very appreciated. airwave_assassin 03-18-2005, 12:18 AM your ground might not be connected. i know that mine wouldnt work when i tried that. i dunno if that helps. Would my stock radio still work if the ground was not connected. I wouldnt think it wouldnt, but I am not that great with electrical Knifeblade_03 03-18-2005, 01:19 AM Lack of ground will prevent the full system from working, since your radio plays, it not likely a ground prob. but an internal system hassle. Try a CD lens cleaner, run it, if no go from there, recheck your wirning, [though I really doubt that is your prob., since radio works]. Other than that, your CD pickup is likely toast in the unit itself. I have redone the wiring on the wiring harness a few times in hopes that maybe a connection was loose but that has proved useless. I guess I should have said that in the first place. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
