90 F350 with 7.3. 5 speed.
Turn key and would not start.
Put a new switch on . Powers up but starter would not turn over. Took switch out and pushed plastic part of switch against spring load and got the engine to turn over.
For some reason I think the rod mechanism has too much play or is wore out and will not move the internal switch part up aginst the sping load.
( clutch switch was good because I had to depress clutch when I got it to turn over)
Any ideas?
How do I know problem isn't with the key and rod mechanism?
