94 std 1.9 tranny on it's last leg...Willskyline 03-15-2005, 09:33 PM Hey. I have a 94 std (non ls, gt) that's about to lose it's first transmission. As I have found I'm a bit hard on transmissions, and I'm not willing to change that, I was considering getting a slightly stronger replacment. DJ, my honest mechanic, told me it'd run a good $800 to get some oem replacement, but it'll still be the relativly weak tranny I've been dealing with for years. If I'm going to put decent $$ into a car tha's only really worth $1500 at most, I might as well get something that lasts. What decent performance tranny options are out there for the 1.9? Should I just save up for something else and perhaps leave this thread forever?! A. Souphound 03-16-2005, 02:14 PM Hey. I have a 94 std (non ls, gt) that's about to lose it's first transmission. Jim@HiTek 03-16-2005, 10:41 PM My guess, Alvin, is that the answer to your question is contained in the title: "94 std 1.9 tranny on it's last leg..." Std usually means standard tranni, yes? :) Jim@HiTek vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
