hey, i am looking to get a suv soon and was trying to decide between a 96 or newer 4runner and a 96 or newer pathfinder. right now i am leaning toward the 4runner because of the looks and because i could possibly get the rear locking diff. if you post which you like better please give me a reason and tell me if you have one. thanks alot.

I have a 96 4runner and I LOVE IT!! It runs perfect and I have never had any major problems with it.

Pathfinders are okay but they don't have the reliability of 4runners plus the rear locking diff is a huge bonus!!!

how many miles does your 4runner have on it? how much did you pay for it when you bought it. thanks

I drove both before I bought my 4Runner. Both were 2000 models. The engine in the 4Runner was superior. Paid $22k a couple years ago with 30k miles.

do you have the rear locking diff on yours? what model do you have? have you needed to replace anything yet? thanks

I have the SR5 without the locker. I haven't had to do anything to the truck except maintenance. Put on about 30k additional miles so far.

i bought it in 96, it has about 154,000 miles on it right now.
