Ive got the 16" alloy wheels that came with my car - what's the largest tyre I can comfortably put on these? at the moment I'm running 225/75 's, but would like to put some 245/75's on if the rim will take them.

Your rim will take it, no doubt. Check the door-jamb sticker for the recommended factory size. I think it's a 235-75-r16, A 245 series will raise you up slightly with only minimal (if any) rub at full lock. I don't think you will have any fender rub, even with the V-8...

I had 245/70R16 Bridgestone ATs on mine when it was factory height and had no problems. They look really nice too. With the 70 series, they are a little fatter looking then the 75s. Fills up the wells nicely.
