I figured out what part is leaking in my truck finally, it is a part numbered 10054756 CAV2, I have no idea what this part is, I would like to know if anyone else does. any help is appreciated

Sure not enough info. What is leaking, where is it, what does it look like? From engine, trans, rear axle, gas?

its an oil leak, its in front of the transmission tray, and near a pip that appears to be the exhaust pipe's beginnings. its a 92 blazer 4 wheel drive.

It looks like it is where the oil filter would go on an older engine. Some blazers have an oil filter relocation kit installed in the engine compartment to make it easier to change, if I'm not mistaken. Do you have an oil filter up inside your engine compartment. The lines coming out of it either go to the oil filter, radiator for cooling or an external oil cooler. You can get a seal/o-ring kit to fix it from leaking.

I do have one of those satellite oil filter installations, if a seal or o-ring could fix that, would it be something I could do: meaning: my expertise is not that great, I know how to change my oil my brakes and my alternator, but nothing like installing a new transmission. thanks

It's not hard. As long as the oil lines coming out of it are free, or you can loosen them up, it shouldn't be too hard. Just take out the bolts and the unit will come right out. Of course you'll get oil from it, so have a oil catch pan. There should be a big seal/o-ring that goes around the outside top. I don't know if there is another small one inside or not. Lube the new seal with some oil and put it back up and tighten the bolts. Of course replace any lost oil. At least something like that..

the oil lines have small o-rings also included in the kit. They should pull out or there is a bolt in the middle of the two lines holding them there. You will have to look..

you can get the o-ring& gasket from a gm dealer for about $8

should it be pull outable?, or do I have to unscrew those lines first?

if this is the same guy that PM'd me, it is his oil filer adapter or where the oil lines connect to the adapter is where it is linking.

No if he would only post the pic like he did in his PM to me it would help him a lot.

ok I tried taking that thing off today, but the bolt where the lines connect is giving me problems. I cant seem to fit my hand or tools in there to unscrew the bolt, does this mean I need to take off other parts that may be in the way?

You will need to use extensions.

what are extensions, it is an extremely cramped space

the top two bolts that are obvious gave me no problems, but the one holding the metal pipes in is problamatic, here is where that bolt is:

you cant see it because the bolt from what appears to be the front differential is blocking it

You will need rachet extensions and maybe a flexible elbow attachment to get them out.

gosh this sucks, I know exactly what is wrong with my truck thanks to you guys, but was unable to fix it, i got one of those tools with the flexible elbow, and an extension. but no such luck. the thing that is making it hard on me, is the fact I dont have a jack, and I have to slide under the truck to work on it. anyways I took it into a shop. I would just like to thank everyone for their help, you guys are the best!
