Hi,The first time I did the fluid on a my wifes 96 intrepid at 44000 miles 3 years ago ,it was very dirty and sliped 1 time going into third gear on a entrance ramp. (warning sign!)I was told to use change the fluid and filter then use penzoil +3 and Lucas trans fix .It worked great. Several months ago it began a cold (within 5 minuits )dounshift delay or bump into first gear only 1 time in the morning when its cold . Warmed it never does anything funny at all .Always smooth crisp shifts .It was much worse before a filter and fluid change (penzoil type +3) 2 weeks ago. The car now has 82000 + miles and the fluid was dirty but had very little black sediment in the pan (like 1/32")and magnet. .This time I didn't use the lucas . Should I? Think it would help or would this require other repairs or adjustments? Thanks , Pat

Change your fluid and use MOPAR ATF +4, PLEASE!!! I work for a Chrysler dealer and the number 1 complaint that people have about their transmissions is irregular shifting and all other sorts of trouble. Chrysler transmissions are exceptionally sensitive to the sort of fluid you use in them. If you don't use Mopar ATF +4, you could cause serious transmission issues. Don't use anything else other than Mopar ATF +4.
