New spark plugs?mflinehan 03-10-2005, 11:00 AM Someone help me with explaining the high performance spark plugs out right now. What do you reccomend, and where to find them. Most just explain to me what they do and why they are worth while thanks. Leonard05 03-16-2005, 03:32 PM It's simple, our cars are high performance. if you looked at the core of the spark plug you'll see why. Plugs from auto zone are wimpy, the core is to thin to produce the spark needed for our engines plus you get what you pay for about $3 a pice. Bmw plugs cost about $13 a Pice. I just start looking around instead of re-post same question. Is it OK to switch factory plugs for iridium/platinum performance ones? Let's say brands like, autolite, bosch, ngk? Is it any good deal? They are about $6-$12 each. I had used autolite before on other cars I had. I really like this brand. Thank you all. MC  OKCSuburban 10-11-2005, 04:33 PM I have been using Bosch Platinum 4s in my 318i. Mine is not a go fast car so I know of no preformace loss or gain. It sure does start easy and I get 26 to 28mpg in town. Smooth Idle too. I only have to buy 4 plugs at $6.00 each from local sources so I'm not out too much. Cheaper than a dealer tune-up. daniel 61 10-11-2005, 05:25 PM Thanks Daniel for your prompt reply. Do you know by any chance if these E46 sparks plugs would fit my 94 E36 (m50 2.0 6L)?
