I dont know anything about this problem, so forgive my dumbness...I think I have a short in a wire coming off of my hot side on the battery. When I try to start the engine nothing happens except for a "click". I mean NOTHING..there is no power or anything. Now, I saw 3 wires coming off the hot side and I wiggled them. When I did that all the power came on and I cranked the truck. Now, though the problem is worse and when i wiggle the wire the power comes on, but when i try to crank it it just goes dead again.
Does this sound like a short and is it fairly easy to do myself?

It sounds like you need to clean and tighten you conections at the battery posts. Welcome to the forum.

Take a voltameter out and check the battery voltage.

If you are just getting the click, you battery could and most liely will be dead.

Well, The battery is new and when it actually cranks it starts fine. The guage reeds normal and everything is cool.It definately is effected by repositioning the wires coming off....I will check the voltage, but I think I'll try to clean and tighten the connections like redneck tech said first.
